Wake up, Toto! We're not in Kansas anymore! Buda and Kyle have both had a huge awakening in the last 4 or 5 years. It used to be only farmland and a couple of small country stores. No more! It's absolutely booming here now. The logical path of growth from Austin IS to Buda or Kyle. People cannot get a really, really nice house in Austin for under 200k. That is still possible here.
World famous Cabela's (the sporting place) built from the ground up (obviously, there was pretty much nothing else here) a few years ago. When word got out that Cabela's was moving to Buda (what we used to call the middle of nowhere) other businesses followed. There is how a Home Depot, Cracker Barrell Restaurant, a huge shopping center is under construction to meet the demands of the people that have now moved there. HEB has put in one of their superstores and Kohl's is already there, too.

Seton Hospital is almost completed and that's a big 500 bed facility with all of the doctors offices/pharmacies/etc. that go along with it.
It is still possible to find good, affordable starter homes here. Centex, Gehan, KB, DRHorton and Main Street are building new homes right now. We also have more elegant estate homes on acreage. Whatever you want, you can find it here! (except the commotion of a big city....we are pretty laid back here.)
